This morning Delaney woke up at 5 and only took a 35 minute nap. Then tonight while I was trying to put her down for bed, when she should have been incredibly tired, she tossed and turned, kicking the wall and jabbering on about everything for about 25 minutes. It was as if she was afraid to go to sleep and miss out on all the wonderful things she was thinking and could say.I realized Delaney is having a language explosion, and she's too excited to sleep. SO MUCH TO SAY...it's a Dave Matthews song, and it perfectly describes what is going on with that girl. I tried really hard to pay attention to everything she was saying because it was so funny and rapid fire.
First she was singing a song from Emma's preschool. "Roly poly, roly poly, ever so slow." And then remembering something we had said on the way home from dinner she said,"Ice cream morrow." She won't let me forget. She moved on to a recent memory about her and Emma's vaccinations saying, "Both shots. Emma. All done. Better." Sam was trying to pat her to calm her down and she said angrily, "Stop it Papa!" And then just before her switch seemed to be turned instantly to off she said randomly, "Arms. Pants. Pocket. Ice, ice. Papa."

It is amazing to get a view into that brain of hers and it's workings!!

Oh, my, I do LOVE that girl and I love to get a view into her world via your blog. Whirling Dervish is an apt description for her! Beautiful photos! I need to get some new photos of the girls for my wallet. I love the one of them together in the cardboard box + the one of Emma alone in the same box.
So you found me! Tee hee... was wondering how long it would take 'The Blog Lady' to find The Magic Onions... been such fun!
Delaney is amazing... I can see how completely overwhelming it must be for her... sooooooo much to say. Poor Teddy is still getting his mouth around his new word (new as in last week...) eat! He thinks he is very clever and is reminding me of Delaney and how she wanted 'mango' in the middle of the night... T has the same thoughts, only its 'eat!' Too Funny.
Can't wait for tonight.
Wow! Your kids are so beautiful. It's amazing to see such a combination of both of your features. I can't decide which parent they look more like. I also really liked the pictures of the colored block creations. There was indeed something very special about it - quite harmonious visually.
You guys are obviously doing a great job as parents both Emma and Delaney look like such happy and smart kids.
Your cousin,
Russell
